Google kini menawarkan aplikasi terkininya Google Drive. Google Drive adalah perkhidmatan storan awan (cloud) yang membolehkan anda menyimpan dokumen, foto dan sebagainya. Menggunakan google drive membolehkan fail-fail pada komputer atau laptop terus di sychronize dan disimpan terus dalam google drive. Maknanya ia membolehkan kita mencapai fail-fail disimpan di mana sahaja walaupun bukan di laptop atau komputer. Apa yang perlu dilakukan adalah hanya perlu memilih fail atau apa sahaja yang ingin di synchronize dengan google drive kerana google drive menawarkan secara percuma storan sehingga 5GB.
Google Drive, Google's cloud storage service, is finally here, and it's no surprise that the competition is prepared after years of rumors.
ReplyDeleteCloud storage services such as Dropbox and Microsoft's Skydrivehave been adding new features ahead of the Google Drive launch, and I've been getting anticipatory e-mails from other competitors, reminding me of their existence, for weeks now.
So how do all these online storage services compare to the new Google Drive? We've put together a chart covering all the big features of the major services. Here are some of the highlights:
Delete• SkyDrive offers the most free storage at 7GB, and users who signed up before April 22 can get 25 GB free for a limited time.
• Google Drive undercuts all of its competitors on monthly pricing, but Microsoft's Skydrive--which doesn't offer monthly pricing--is cheaper on an annual basis.
• SugarSync is the only service that can sync to any local file folder, but SkyDrive allows access to an entire remote Windows PC using two-step authentication.
• Watch out for file-size limits. Box has a limit of only 100MB; SugarSync doesn't have any limits; and Google Drive's 10GB is much more generous than those of the other three services.
• Web apps, public link sharing, and private file sharing are table stakes at this point.
• The offerings from Google and Microsoft have their downsides: Neither one supports the other's mobile platform.
Of course, comparison charts won't tell you everything you need to know. You might, for example, prefer Dropbox because a lot of other people are using it, or Google Drive because you already use lots of other Google services and want to tie in cloud storage. Use the feature comparisons as a baseline, and then find the cloud storage service that's right for you.
Well, if I need Win 7 or 8 for SkyDrive, then I'm SOL for now, because I'm still using Win XP. However, some of these cloud-based storage solutions seem a bit pricey or are security risks for consumers. I have paid online backup storage with Norton 360, but it leaves a lot to be desired, and I prefer to keep my working copies of files on my own PC, where I have more control over them, thank you! Meanwhile, I like your user name, Chuck, but I always thought that name was too obvious, so I came up with one that I've rarely used: CharlesUlyssesFarley, which is ChuckUFarley for short, but maybe that's too pretentious or too esoteric for some people to catch or appreciate. It's just a little less dangerous for sites that are too strict about user names allowed
Directly save file and images

Save to Google Drive extension for Google Chrome allows users to upload files, photos and videos from the Internet to Google Drive. One more way this extension comes in handy is when you want to directly upload a file to Google Drive, without saving it to your local computer.
This extension adds an option to the right click menu in Google Chrome, which means you won’t need to use any web interface to upload files.
Once installed, you can see the Google Drive icon in your toolbar. Click on this icon and a snapshot of the current web page will be saved to your Google Drive account. When you do this for the first time, it will request you to grant permission to access your Google account.
